- Exposition
- Across the bay from the land of the Cyclops is a lush, deserted island. Odysseus and his crew land on the island in a dense fog and spend days feasting on wine and wild goats and observing the main land, where the Cyclops live (68-71).
- We shall analyze the Cyclops main land.
- Inciting Moment
- We climbed, then, briskly to the cave. But Cyclops had gone afield, to pasture his fat sheep, so we looked round at everything inside: (116-118).

- Rising Action
- Strangers, he said, who are you? And where from? What brings you here by sea ways a fair traffic? (156-157).

- Resolution
- Now he laid hands upon a bigger stone and wheeled around, titanic for the cast, to let it fly in the black-prowed vessels track. But it fell short, just aft the steering oar, and whelming seas rose giant above the stone to bear us onward toward the island.
