  • Hello, everyone. I am Dr Jones. Today, we are receiving two guests to interview today, on the topic of stem cells.
  • There are types of stem cells, like the embryonic stem cells and tissue stem cells. Embryonic ones are found in the blastocyst, and they are pluripotent. Tissue stem cells are found in our body and are multipotent.
  • Hi, my name is Janice Fortune, and I am a doctor. I am worried that some of my patients are paying for treatments that don't work, or even make their condition worse. I think that we should stop arguing about embryos in research. It is more important that patients get good advice and understand what could go wrong with experimental treatments. After all, isn't a patient's life worth more than a ball of cells?
  • This is our first guest of the day, Doctor Fortune.
  • Good evening, I am Father O'Reilly, a Catholic priest. I believe that we should always protect life, and that we should not allow research on embryos at all. When a sperm fertilizes an egg, a life is created. We should always protect that life. I strongly think that nothing can ever make it right to end a life.
  • This is our second guest of the day. Father O'Reilly, would you like to express your opinions?
  • Why does he think like that? A patient is a life, too!
  • And that is all for our guest interview today.
  • You too, Father O'Reilly.
  • It was nice meeting you, Docter Fortune.
  • That was very interesting. Doctor Fortune and Father O'Reilly both had different opinions on stem cell research. Now that you have heard their opinions, what do you think?
