  • In this scene, I will show Greece's geography.
  • The Greek sailors
  • The Greeks trading with other places
  • The geography in Greece was limited because they didn't have good farmland and they lived by the sea, the Mediterranean Sea near Europe. Also, their land was rocky and covered in mountains which can really only be used for grazing animals such as sheep.
  • Paris and Helen escaped together.
  • The Greeks were expert sailors because the Greek peninsula is surrounded by water. Specifically, the Mediterranean Sea. Since they couldn't farm, they depended on other people and different lands for goods.
  • The ten year period
  • Since the Greeks were surrounded by sea water, they had to expertly sail around and trade with other city-states and nations around them because they could not farm on their rocky, mountainous land.
  • Paris' palace burning down in Troy
  • Paris (the prince of Troy) ran away with Helen (the queen of Greece) because he convinced her to elope with him. They had a love affair and ran away to Troy. The next day, the king realized his beautiful Helen had left him for a man her age. (eye roll)
  • Oh! Of course my brave prince. Let's go!
  • My lady, would you care to escape with me to my island of Troy?
  • During the ten year period when Paris and Helen eloped together, the Greeks were plotting about how they were to get past Troy's walls. They finally decided on their plot to take back their queen. A "gift" was in order. The Greeks had built a giant wooden horse! In the middle of the horse, there was a secret chute where Greeks soldiers were waiting. After many hours of waiting, the horse stopped moving. As expected, the Trojans had brought the horse into their walls! The opened the hatch and climbed out, let the other soldiers in and burnt Troy to the ground.
  • Charge!!!
  • The Greek soldiers burnt the whole of Troy down to the ground so there was nothing left and took the queen BACK! That poor woman though...
