- The princess points to the right door and he opens it and the lion jumps out of the door killing the man
- The princess cries over the loss of her love
- The princess confronts her father on these barbaric actsand demands change
- The king meets with his advisors seeking ideas to change their ways of justice
- One of the advisors has an idea to make a group of highly trusted citizens to listen to the mans pleas and alibi, then decide whether he should be thrown in the dungeon or set free.
- The first trial by this new system began and the kingdom no longer lived in fear of their ruler
