  • Good morning students, today we will be learning about rational and irrational numbers.
  • Good morning sir.that sounds like an interesting topic.
  • And numbers that starts with 0 to infinity are called whole numbers.
  • so, the basic info you need to learn about rational numbers is numbers that starts from 1 to infinity are natural numbers.
  • No, every rational can not be represented as rational numbers. Any decimal number whose terms are termination or non-terminating but repeating is a rational number
  • So, rational numbers are in forms of p/q , And all integers and fractions are rational numbers. Some examples are 6/8,2,1/3.
  • Sir are decimals also rational numbers?
  • Sir what are non-terminating and non- recurring numbers?
  • An irrational number is a type of real number which cannot be represented as a simple fraction. It cannot be expressed in the form of a ratio.
  • Now lets learn about irrational numbers.
  • these numbers are non-terminating and non-recurring.
  • Non-terminating decimals are the one that does not have an end term. What are non terminating numbers? It is a decimal, which has a finite number of digits(or terms).
  • Non - recurring numbers are those in Math that do not repeat their value after a decimal point
  • Sir what is terminating and recurring numbers then?
  • when a number recurring or terminating it is a rational number. And when it is non-terminating or non-recurring it is a irrational number.
  • Now this be it for rational numbers. thank you class.
  • Thank you sir.
