- hello, my name is Charles Darwin! i am an English naturalist whose scientific theory of evolution by natural selection became the foundation of modern evolutionary studies. today i will be teaching you about one of the six principles of evolution, overproduction!
- here, we see a butterfly. the female is in search of a plant to lay her eggs on. these eggs were already fertilized by the male in a previous process.
- now that the butterfly has found her desired plant, she can begin the laying process. keep in mind, butterflies tend to lay 100 - 300 eggs at a time depending on the breed.
- the female butterfly is in the process of laying her eggs. she seems to be taking a lot longer than normal. we need to see what happens!
