- Hello, I am Mike, today I am going to take a look in the American way of life in the 60's.
- Elvis Presley is my favorite artist!! I like his song 'Jailhouse Rock' the most!
- In the 60's younger people had their own money thanks to the level of prosperity. They used this for example to go to concerts from famous artists. Because younger people could do what they wanted, they developed an own culture. The 'Youth Culture'
- Television became more and more popular in the US, with television there came advertisements. This was because the programs were broadcast by commercial channels. They made their money by advertising for big companies, this sponsored the TV programs, so basically advertisements were necessary in order to watch TV shows.
- I love watching TV and listening to the radio, but I hate the commercials constantly interfering with my show constantly.
- The American culture developed over time. This spread throughout the world. For example, fast food became famous everywhere in the world, and it started in America. The spreading of the American culture was called Americanisation.
- because of he winning of the second world war, people became optimistic and saw a good future in America. Because of this there was a great increase of babies being born after the war. this was called the Baby Boom
- Cars and other ways of transportation came more and more because of the prosperous era, cities became more and more crowded by cars
