- This is the stage of primary succession. It is right after the natural disaster and there is only rock.
- Pioneer species such as lichens are beginning to grow.
- In secondary succession rocks break down into soil. This is a result of weathering.
- In secondary succession there are fast changes
- And grass begins to grow
- In secondary succession other producers such as bushes, small trees, tall trees and other plants also grow.
