- ACT I
- Then have my lips the sin that they took.
- Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin again.
- ACT II
- Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear, so soon forsaken? Young men’s love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.
- I’ll tell thee as we pass, but this I pray:That thou consent to marry us today.
- ACT III
- And for that offense / Immediately we do exile him hence. I have an interest in your hate's proceeding. My blood for your rude brawls doth lie a-bleeding;...
- Not Romeo, Prince; he was Mercutio's friend; / His fault concludes but what the law should end, / The life of Tybalt.
- This scene is directly after Romeo and Juliet's first kiss, right before the second. This scene's importance is that it marks the beginning of their love.
- ACT IV
- Come, vial.What if this mixture do not work at all?Shall then I be married tomorrow morning?
- In this scene, Romeo meets with the Friar and asks to marry Juliet.
- ACT V
- O, I am slain! If thou be merciful, / Open the tomb, lay me with Juliet.
- Romeo has seen Mercutio get killed, and then killed Tybalt. The Prince then exclaims that Romeo has been banished.
- ACT V
- Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on / The dashing rocks thy seasick weary bark!
- In this scene, Juliet is about to drink the potion that the Friar gave her but begins to doubt, arguably being one of the most important scenes in the entire play.
- No, no! This shall forbid it. Lie thou there.What if....
- In this scene, Romeo kills Paris in the catacombs. This is important because a character dies.
- [Dies.]
- In this scene, Romeo finds Juliet asleep, believing her to be dead. Due to this, he drinks a vial of poison and kills himself.
- Here's to my love! [Drink] O true apothecary! / Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.
