Storyboard Text

  • The First Americans
  • The First Americans migrated on foot fron Sibera, in Asia. They came here following large asian mammals, such as mammoths. There are many diffrent groups of Native Americans. All this groups adapted to the enviroments that surrond them.
  • The European Exploration
  • Christopher Columbus was inspired by Marco Polos writing and eventually sailed to modern day USA. After Columbus found the Americas more countries are more intrested in this new land and send people to help conquer land. This started the Columbian exchange 
  • English Colonies in North America
  • Many colonists came to North America for the chance to own land and start a new life. The 3. The New England, Middle, and Southern colonies all had different lands and economies. New Englanders built their economy on small farms, lumbering, fishing, shipbuilding, and trade.Middle Colonies raised a variety of crops and livestock. Southern Colonies featured broad rivers and vast wetlands that gradually merged with the sea. 
  • Declaration of Independance
  • The victory in Boston was the start of the Americans declaring independence from the British. The second constitutional congress sent King George, The Olive Branch Petition, asking him to end the quarrel. After King George ignored the petition and called the colonists traitors many of them were angry and agitated
  • The American Revolution 
  • America and Britain both have strengths and weaknesses. Some of the Americans' weaknesses were that they didn’t have skilled fighters and some of their strengths were that they received help from overseas. Some of Britain's weaknesses were that there was a lot of difference in distance between the British and Americans and some of their strengths were that they had a professional army of 42,000 troops. 
  • Creating the Consitution
  • Once the American Revolution was over the states began quarreling between themselves. The Articles of Confederation had many loopholes and weaknesses, so they had to create a revised document that would make the nation a better Union. Eventually all the delegates of the states agreed and signed the constitution.
