- Cherokee signed a treaty with the British. The British thought they were controlling Cherokee now. The Cherokee thought they were friends on equal terms

- There was peace between the Cherokee and British for 30 years. The Cherokee thought that the British would now give them protection. The British ended up betraying the Cherokee.

- The Cherokee started taking the British horses. They started to feel a sense of betrayal. This made the British become upset.

- The royal governor of South Carolina tried to control the Cherokee in many ways. Their first option was to stop all trade with the Cherokee. This was the main form, for the Cherokee, to gain money.

- Their was also Another way the royal governor of South Carolina wanted to control the Cherokee. They took the Cherokee peace representatives as hostages. This was a big reason in which led to the Cherokee War.
