- Persians took away the Ionians farmland and forced them to give them money and the Ionians did not like that.

- The Ionians asked Athens for help to fight against the Persians, and Athens agreed to help.

- So, Athens helped the Ionians, but then shortly after the battle with the Persians, they left and went home.
