- PT Barnum wants to recruit Philip Carlyle to join the circus for funding so that he can perform the show. But Philip is being stubborn.

- The circus rebels against Barnum because the fame has gotten to his head. They have all been treated so badly by everyone and they finally find someone who treats them good (Barnum). But he has been changing.
- ResolutionThe Greatest Show
- Barnum lets the fame get to him so he gets the world famous singer Jenny Lind to go on tour with him. He has not been around for the circus members and his family so the fire starts and Charity leaves him.
- Barnum has not been a good person to everyone in his life and he finally realizes what he has done. So he decides that from now on he would treat everyone better and not get blinded by fame.
- The role that the circus plays in the movie is that even if you are different you can always show your talent in one way or another.
