- Convection - The heat transfer caused by the rising of hotter less dense fluids and the falling of cooler, more dense fluids. The tea kettle is a conductor because the metal boils the water up faster.

After a period of time the tea is cold but the ceramic mug acts as a conductor in order to keep the tea warm. The window is also a insulator because it keeps the warm air inside the hose from getting out and the cold air from outside from getting in.
