  • Weren't they just here?
  • Where are they?
  • They aren't here.
  • What?
  • How?
  • N-nothing.
  • What do you got in there?
  • You better not get in trouble again.
  • I'm sorry George I won't do it again.
  • This is the scene where George and Lennie were hiding from the police. Back when they worked at Weed, Lennie did a bad thing in which he held on to a girl's red dress and wouldn't let go. The girl told the police that she got raped. George, not wanting Lennie to get caught, found a place by the side of a river where they could hide until it was safe for them to go.
  • We will have our own land.
  • And George tell about the rabbits.
  • Maybe I can help?
  • This is George and Lennie camping the night together before they enter the farm the next day to begin work. George sees Lennie stick his hands in his pockets a few times and he had gotten suspicious. He finally had enough and demanded Lennie to show him what he was hiding in his pocket. Lennie comes clean and tells George that he found a dead mouse and had been petting it.
  • I done another bad thing.
  • Candy greets George and Lennie upon their arrival. He said the boss was a bit mad that they came late but he was nice about it. This is the cabin Candy leads Lennie and George to upon their arrival to the farm. They unpack their stuff and George gives Lennie another lecture telling him to not do another bad thing.
  • I got em'. Right in the back of the head.
  • This is inside George and Lennie's bunkhouse where Candy overhears George and Lennie's plans. Candy offers to contribute to their plan and at first George is skeptical because it was intended to be a two-man job. Lennie asks George to explain their plans to Candy. When Candy offers his share of $300 dollars, George agrees to let Candy in on it.
  • This is where Lennie kills Curley's wife. Lennie did another "bad thing" and he remembered to meet George where he told him to go if he got in trouble. This event ruined their dreams of owning their own farm. When Candy told everyone that Curley's wife was dead, suspicion on Lennie emerged. Curley and the others went out to find him.
  • At the end, George kills Lennie. We do not know for sure why George killed him but based on previous experiences, we can infer that George killed Lennie simply because he was tired of him causing trouble. George maybe even wanted to kill Lennie because in the last chapter, Lennie offers George to go in the mountains and live by himself but George said no. Despite these reasons, I feel George provided a quick death for Lennie because if Curley had his hands on Lennie, he would make him suffer.
