  • Purpose of Constitutional Convention
  • America gained their Independence In the Revolutionary War in 1783
  • The government wrote the Articles of Confederation to create laws for thr country.
  • This federal government document was ineffective and America was falling apart.
  • Five delegates from different states decided to have the constitutional convention to rewrite a new and improved Articles of Confederation
  • This new constitution outlined idea of a federal gov, separation of power, boundary disputes,  voting, etc. The convention started on May 25th and was finished September 17th 1787.
  • They scraped the articles of confederation and started fresh with a new document.

  • Our goal needs to be descreasing our economic troubles and reducing radical politcal movements.
  • We need to come together as a country and create a stronger central government with more sustainable laws for our citizens
  • After graduating from Yale, I served briefly in the New York legislature. my chief politcal influence was shown throughout pamphlets and New York Article.
  • I am William Livingston from New York, I am representing New Jersey in the Constitutional Convention

  • After moving to New Jersey I represented the colony in both the first and second continental congress. In 1776 I commanded the troops of New Jersey and went on to be the states first governer.
  • In the convention I oppsed to slave trade. After the constitutional convention I played a part in securing New Jersey's speedy ratification.
  • I am George Washington and I represented Virginia in the Constitutional Convention

  • I attended Harvard University. I guided troops and became leader of the continental army throughout the American Revolution.
  • My role in the convention was president, this meant I was to oversee debates, ensure order, and give opinions on important matters.
