- Hi, I'm from Saudi Arabia. Did you know Saudi Arabia is the Largest country without a river? All of Saudi Arabia's Weather is warm and mainly all we have here is desert climate.
- Mecca is a city located in western Saudi Arabia. Mecca is a ritual center of the Islamic religion.
- This is a place called Haj. It is a pilgrimage to the Mecca performed as a duty by Muslims. This is were they go to honor their religion. Every Muslim in the world goes here at least once in their life time.
- Arabic is the official language of several countries in the middle east and northern Africa.
- In Saudi Arabia, the majority of Muslims fall into a branch of Sunni Islam.
- Here in Saudi Arabia, the holiest month is Ramadan. It is believed that the holy scripture was given to the Islamic Prophet Muhammed during this time.
- In Saudi Arabia we have this law called the Sharia Law. It is and Islamic canonical law prescribing both religious and secular duties and sometimes retributive penalties for lawbreaking.
- A police force charged with enforcing Islamic morality is called the hisbah here.
- Muslim women have to wear this long black cloak worn in pubilc. Called an abaya.
- We host a festival called Eid-Al-Fitr. This is a festival of breaking the fast at the end of fasting during certain religious holidays.
- Here we have a pilgrimage. It's a journey to a place considered sacred for religious purposes.
- In Saudi Arabia we have an absolute monarchy. It is a system of government in which the head of state is a hereditary position and the king or queen has almost complete power.
