Storyboard Text

  • These juices enter into the small intestine to be mixed with chyme(mixed contents from stomach)
  • Next, the pancreas! The pancreas produces juice that contains enzymes that brake down proteins,fats, nucleic acids and proteins!
  • The liver is made up of lobes which consist of hepatic lobules. The liver secretes bile (stored in the gallbladder) which helps converts fat in food to fatty acids which can be absorbed by the body.
  • Essentially, the secretions from the pancreas and liver are received by the small intestine where it mixe with the chyme
  • The function of the small intestine is to to complete nutrient digestion and absorb the products.
  • After the small intestine, the resdue is transported to the large intestine
  • Heres another look at the small intestine! It is made up of the duodenum,jejenum and the ileum.
  • TIts function is to secrete music,absorb water and electrolytes. Eventually feces are formed and propelled outwards.
  • The large intestine is made up of the cecum,colon,rectum and anal canal
