Storyboard Text

  • Act I
  • "If ever you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."
  • Thou villain Capulet!
  • Act II
  • "But my true love is grown to such excess I cannot sum up half my wealth"
  • “Amen, amen! but come what sorrow can, It cannot countervail the exchange of joy"
  • Act III
  • Courage, man. The hurt cannot be much.
  • I am hurt. A plague a both your houses!
  • The Capulet servants insult the Montagues by biting their thumbs. Their small dispute causes the Montagues and Capulets to fight in the street. As the fight escalates the Prince threatens to kill them if they ever fight again.
  • Act IV
  • O me, O me! My child, my only life!
  • Romeo and Juliet agreed to meet at the Friar's cell the day after they met. The Nurse helps Juliet leave as she tells her parents she was going to confession for disobeying her parents. As Romeo and Juliet meet at Friar's cell, Friar is unsure of marrying them. In the end, Friar Lawrence marries Romeo and Juliet.
  • My poverty but not my will consents.
  • Romeo meets Benvolio and Mercutio after the wedding, extremely happy as neither knows the reason. Tybalt had been arguing with MercutioTybalt and Mercutio. When Tybalt insults Rome, Romeo tells him he loves him for reasons he can't say Mercutio becomes angry and challenges Tybalt. They duel until Romeo interferes; Tybalt blindly thrusts his sword and Mercutio receives a mortal wound.
  • Act IV
  • Juliet goes to the Friar after getting news that she would be marrying Paris on Thursday. He gives her a potion that would put her in such a deep sleep it would appear that she was dead. This would cause Romeo to come to visit her, as he would be getting a letter written by Friar explaining the truth. The Nurse finds Juliet the morning after, screaming that she is dead.
  • O lamentable day!
  • Romeo's servant, Balthazar, delivers the news of Juliet's death. The revelations of Juliet send Romeo into a suicidal state. He begins his journey to Verona when he stops at an apothecary's post. He notices the apothecary is poor and starving so he offers money in exchange for a poison that will kill him instantly. The apothecary refuses a few times until he finally gives in, desperate for food and money.
  • I pay thy poverty not thy will.
  • Paris discovers Romeo at Juliet's tomb, in a flash of anger he challenges Romeo to a duel. Romeo kills Paris, as he grieves Juliet he doesn't notice the color returning to Juliet's face. He opens the bottle the apothecary gave him and drinks it. Juliet wakes up a few minutes after, upon seeing Romeo dead she takes his dagger and kills herself.
