- we are passing an act called the sugar act. it will limit the smuggling in the colonies, and people will stopped being accused of smuggling goods .
- we have rights! and you violating our rights.

- the sugar act violated their rights because they were taxed without their consent. the sugar act was a law that attempted to curb the smuggling of sugar and molasses in the colonies by reducing the previous tax rate and enforcing the collection of duties.the sugar act was seen unfair by the American colonists because they had no direct representation in Parliament.
