- As am I, snout.
- I am starveling and I am present.
- Snug, here.
- The names Flute, and I'm here.
- Good, we are going to be putting on a play for King Theseus and Queen Hippolyta's wedding.
- I shall play a tragic lover or a powerful tyrant.
- I have started growing a beard so I will no longer play the girl roles.
- The story is called The Very Tragic Comedy of the Awful Deaths of Pyramus and Thisbe.
- That is a great piece of work. Now tell us who will play what.
- yes, do.
- Bottom will play Pyramus and Flute will play Thisbe.
- The lover who kills himself. That will need some tears for me to perform well. I'll make tears fall like rainstorms.
- A girl role again! But I'm growing a beard.
- Starveling, you'll play Thisbe's mother, Snout you will be Pyramus' father and I will play Thisbe's father. Snug will be the lion. I hope the play has been well cast.
- I can play all the parts, Thisbe, Pyramus, Thisbe's mother and father, Pyramus' father and the lion.
- I'm not sure if I can do the lines of the lion.
- Everyone shall play one part and don't worry Snug, the lion just roars. We will meet in the forest for rehearsals 1 mile away and in the moonlight. Memorize your lines by tomorrow night please.
- How very annoying, but I shall be at rehearsal with my lines memorized.
- Oh good, I shall roar so well everyone will be scared and screaming.
