  • Hi Student, this is Ms.Wollak today we're going to be learning about Photosynthesis.
  • So here we have the Chemical formula for Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process in which plants called autotrophs make food. it's broken down into two parts the first being the light dependent reaction and the second being the light independent reaction.
  • Chemical equation for Photosynthesis:6CO2 + 6H2O +Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • Chemical equation for Photosynthesis:6CO2 + 6H2O +Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • Let focus on the first stage, the light dependent reaction (LDR). The LDR takes place in the thykaloid membrane of the cell within the chloroplast. This is were little molecules called chlorpphyll take in light from the sun and gain energy which will then be used in the making of glucose.
  • The second stage would be the Light Independent reaction (LIR). This reaction takes place in the Stoma. The light energy taken in from the LDR will convert carbon dioxide and water absorbed by the roots of the plants and turn everything into GLUCOSE the plants food. And just like people plants produce waste but their waste is in the form of oxygen.
  • Chemical equation for Photosynthesis:6CO2 + 6H2O +Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • Chemical equation for Photosynthesis:6CO2 + 6H2O +Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • I know you all must be confused, but to sum it up photosynthesis is the process in which plants use energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose which is their food and then they exert oxygen as a waste product.
  • Chemical equation for Photosynthesis:6CO2 + 6H2O +Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2
  • OK, that's all I have for you today BYE STUDENTS!!!
