- This is the scene of Betsy and Amelia arguing back and forth of the life decisions they have chosen to do at the boarding house, so this is then person vs. person.
- This is a scene of how Diana is working, and realizes how bad the conditions are, so she thinks that the working conditions are terrible with the way they run things.
- Lyddie has to work extra for more money to earn, she then manages to control and manage three looms than one, so then she can create more fabric and clothes.
