- pony boy johnny and dally were at the dairy queen eating food because they were starving. they were they were shocked of what dally said. he told them that chary valance was a spy for them because of the gang war at home
- in the car they left and dally started to tell them about everyone going to hunt for them. he started to cuss but then jonny said that he was going to turn himself in. dally wondered why he didn't turn him self in 5 days ago.
- slowly they stopped driving because they told dally to stop because they saw the old church on fire. they got out of the car so quickly that they left the wind behind them. they asked why the church was fire they said that they don't know but there were kids in there. they went inside the burning church to save the kids pony still had the jaket on but there was no time he and jonny got the kids out pony barely made it and johnny almost died pony passed out johnny to .

- pony was on a stretcher because of fire and dally was cussing even when he was injured he also saw jonny looking like he was horribly injured because he was. they said that pony was fine just a few burns. he asked and dally and johnny. they said that dally will survive but the other one he has severe burns and he is in critical condition.
