  • Two years later...
  • Here are your yams, also can u believe that the Abame tribe has been wiped out because it has been cursed.

  • Throughout Okonkwo's exile,Unchendew, Okonkwo's uncle instructs him to man up and serve his seven years inbanishment and return to his tribe.

  • Aftertwo years of Okonkwo's exile, Obierika comes to Okonkwo's mother land todeliver his yams and the message of the fate Abame has been wiped out.

  • Themissionaries ask for a plot of land to establish a church on. The elders andleaders of the community give them a plot in the Evil Forest, knowing that themissionaries would refuse it. The missionaries are overjoyed with the offer,much to the surprise of the elders. The elders, on the other hand, areconfident that the forest's evil spirits and powers would assassinate themissionaries within days.

  • Tally hoe, off to the evil forest we go.
  • The elders discover that the guy who boasted of slaying the snake has died of sickness after declaring the new ostracism policy. The peasants' faith in their gods is thus restored, and the converts are no longer shunned.

  • At the feast, one guy is surprised by Okonkwo's generosity with his food, while another praises Okonkwo's loyalty to the kindred link. He also expresses concern for the younger generation, claiming that Christianity is luring individuals away from their families and customs..
