Storyboard Text

  • My Dog has been acting very different lately. She's never been a biter but she tried to nip at me the other day.
  • what brings you in today?
  • Okay, I'm going to have you go to the first room on the right here. The doctor will be with you shortly.
  • Thank you!
  • Opal hasn't been acting much like herself, shes been uncoordinated. She seems to be very out of sorts. She's the sweetest dog in the world and recently been biting for no reason.
  • what concerns are you having again with Opal?
  • I've never been to supportive of the whole vaccines thing so Opal hasn't received any.
  • Based on these facts you just mentioned I have a strong feeling Opal might have rabies. This is a very serious and upsetting matter but I will help you through this. Typically when an animal is showing signs of this virus there isn't much we can do other than wait it out or euthanasia.
  • I know many people who aren't for vaccines but typically I will always suggest them. A vaccine is used to protect animals from virus's and bacteria's that can cause them harm. Most vaccines are created due to the easily spreading disease and especially in this case because its zoonotic meaning it can be spread from animal to human.
  • I didn't know I was causing Opal more harm by not providing the safety of these vaccines.
  • Well in this case there are only two choices one being wait it out, or euthanasia. If you choose euthanizing Opal you will be putting her out of this pain and you are helping prevent the spread of this virus.
  • What can I do?
  • I guess euthanasia sounds like the best option thank you.
