  • STEP 3 : IDENTIFYING THE ALTERNATIVES
  • On the other hand I can choose a different courier service. Will they be able to reach the location on time?
  • What choices do I have? What are the alternatives? Since it is a minor accident I can call the driver and find out if he is fit to continue the delivery.
  • Or I could assign one of my employees to make the delivery instead.
  • The driver is stuck on site waiting for the police's arrival. He would make the delivery late and that is unacceptable! If I utilize a new courier service, they are not familiar with the task at hand. Also they are not trained in the field (foods).
  • STEP 4 : WEIGHING THE EVIDENCE
  • My employees are well trained in the field. They know the location of the crashed driver which will make pick up and delivery much easier and less time consuming.
  • STEP 5 : CHOOSING AMONG ALTERNATIVES
  • Driver on the phone: Yes ma'am it is a minor accident. The food is still secure. However you are right. I won't be able to make the delivery in time. I am on 46th Bay Street awaiting the police's arrival.
  • Speaking to the Driver: What is going on? I heard there was a minor accident on route and you cannot leave until the police arrive. I will have to send another employee to collect and deliver the meal to our clients. OH Dear!! (sighs)
  • STEP 6: TAKING ACTION
  • Everyone Listen Up! I will assign another employee to deliver the meal.
  • Yes ma'am ready when you are.
  •
  • WEDDING RECEPTION
  •
  • Your meal has arrived!
  • Finally!
  • STEP 7: REVIEWING THE DECISION MADE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
  • I have solved the problem by making the decision of using another employee to make the delivery in time for the wedding reception.
  • Therefore I have made the best decision because my client was satisified despite the challenges faced.
