  • Act 4, Scene 1
  • Prick him down, Antony.
  • Upon condition Publius shall not live, who is your sister's son, Mark Antony.
  • .
  • He shall not live. Look, with a spot I damn him.
  • Brutus, this sober form of yours hides wrongs, and when you do them - 
  • Act 4, Scene 2
  • Most noble brother, you have done me wrong.
  • Cassius, be content. Speak your griefs softly. I do know you well. Before the eyes of both our armies here, which should perceive nothing but love from us, let us not wrangle.
  • Judge me, you gods! Wrong I mine enemies? And if not so, how should I wrong a brother?
  • Act 4, Scene 2 (inside the tent)
  • Chastisement?
  • The name of Cassius honors this corruption, and chastisement doth therefore hide his head.
  • Antony, Octavius, and Lepidus meet to discuss what will happen now that Caesar is dead and all of Rome is angry at the conspirators. They prepare for war and determine who they shall kill and who they shall spare.
  • Act 4, Scene 2(inside the tent)
  • I did send to you for gold to pay my legions, which you denied me.
  • Cassius comes to confront Brutus with his entire army. Brutus doesn't want the soldiers to think that there is something wrong, so they step into Brutus's tent to talk.
  • Act 4, Scene 2(inside the tent)
  • Once inside the tent, Brutus and Cassius begin fighting over the actions taken against Lucius Pella. This man had been condemned and disgraced for taking bribes, and while Brutus thinks Lucius got what he deserves, Cassius disagrees.

  • the soothsayer is telling caesar to beware of march 15th but caesar isn't superstitious so he ignores the soothsayer
  • I denied you not. He was but a fool that brought myanswer back.
  • In this scene Cassius talks to Brutus about him becoming leader, instead of Caesar; but Brutus doesn't think he's good enough.
  • This scene shows part of Cassius' plan to bring Brutus to his side. The plan is to make Brutus believe that the citizens of Rome want him to be leader, so that he is more likely to take down Caesar.
