- Seven were chosen to distribute food and spread the news of God. In verse 6:6, the Apostles prayed and laid their hands on the seven chosen men.
- One of the seven men, Stephen, performed many great wonders and signs among the people and spoke with great wisdom. This caused people to argue and question him. 
- Stephen was brought to the council for being accused of blasphemy and had false witnesses go against him. The council saw that he looked like an angel.
