Jem and Scout meet Dill. Dill came to live with his aunt, the Finche's neighbor. They first met when Jem and Scout looked over the fence and saw Dill sitting in Mrs. Rachel's collard patch.
Chapter 4
Scout goes to school for the first time. This is when the teacher get's mad because Scout already knows how to read and write already. Miss Caroline also gets mad at Scout for explaining that Walter Cunningham is poor and would never accept money because he can't afford to pay it back.
Chapter 5
Scout invites Walter over for dinner, when they are eating Scout criticises Walter for how he eats. When Scout does this Calpurnia gets mad at her and says that some people don't eat like them and not to contradict those who don't.
Chapter 6
Scout finds a knothole in a tree and discovers two pieces of chewing gum in it. She eats the chewing gum and when she tells Jem he makes her spit it out.
In this chapter Scout gets mad. Scout begins to feel left out by Dill and Jem, because Jem is getting older and doesn't want to hang out with his little sister anymore.
On Dill's last night in Maycomb Scout, Jem, and Dill decide to sneak over to the Radley's at night to peek in the window. Jems pants get caught on the Radley's fence and they have to tell the parents they were playing strip poker.
