  • George Washington1. Election of 1789 - George Washington was elected the 1st President of the U.S. On April 30, 1789 George Washington was elected the first President and was in charge of running the new nation. 2. Presidential Cabinet - The creation of a select group of Washington's advisors to help give him advice on running the nation, taxes, foreign affairs and more. 3. Hamilton's debt plan - Hamilton had a plan to pay off all the states debt through a national bank, George Washington and Congress agreed with Hamilton.
  • Hamilton's plan can save us from our national debt, also someone tell Hamilton the South already paid their debt, or this could end badly.
  • 4. Political Parties - Two parties called the Federalist Party, created by Alexander Hamilton, and The Democratic-Republican Party created by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, began to fight for control of the presidency. 5. Whiskey Rebellion - Hamilton proposed a tax on whiskey to raise money from the farmers, this lead to a rebellion which President Washington had to call upon militias to help stop the rebellion, not one shot was fired. 6. Farewell Address - George Washington wrote a addressed to the public to tell of his leaving, in the letter he warned the nation about having long-term friendly or rivalries against other nations, and that the political parties could tear our nation apart.
