- During the harvest season, he sends his servant to the tenants to collect fruit, but instead, they beat him and send him away with nothing.
- Determined, he continues to send other servents. Unwilling to budge, the tenants continue to beat and even kill them.

- Jesus explains that God's stone, in this case, himself, was sent down, yet people still reject him. Believing that he had spoken against them, the chief priests looked for a way to arrest Jesus but instead chose to walk away since they feared the crowd.
