- Scythe Lucifer and Scythe Anastasia meet
- The Booby Trap
- Scythe Brahams is apprehended by Scythe Lucifer and is told to start gleaning fairly or he will be burned. Brahams agrees as he knows what Lucier has done to other scythes, burns them to ashes so they can't be brought back alive.
- Scene Gone Wrong
- Scythe Lucifer and Scythe Anastasia meet do discus the sythedom, the institution of scythes. They believe that the scythedom is corrupt, that some scythes are gleaning for the joy of killing. They also believe these scythes are trying to convert all scythes to their ways or get rid of them.
- Winter Conclave
- Is there anyone willing to take my place?
- Scythe is learning how to drive by her mentor, Scythe Curie, when all of a sudden a man jumps in front of their car. Scythe Anastasia is furious with the man because it's her first time driving. As she leans in to yell at the dying man, he begins to whisper something. Anastasia walks away and stumbles a wire connected explosives on the road a feet in front of the car.That's when Scythe Anastasia realized that the man was saying booby trap.
- The Deal
- You will train my protege every day or you will be gleaned.
- Scythe Anastasia's next gleaning is in the third act of Julius Caesar, as she allows her subjects to chose how they die. After gleaning the actor, Scythe Anastasia was attacked by unsavvories. Outcasts those who break the rules, such as stealing, murdering. Scythe Anastasia is saved by a man calle Greyson Tolliver, the man who saved her life from the explosives and is later revealed was undercovered as an unsavory.
- In the beginning of the Winter Conclave, High Blade Xenocrates told the scythes that he will be stepping down from the High Blade to become Grandslayer. After everyone quiets down, he asked who is willing to step up as High Blade. Then all of a sudden a scythe nominates Scythe Curie, an honorable scythe for the position.
- I nominate Honorable Scythe Curie for the position.
- Scythe Lucifer is captured by Scythe Rand, a former follower of Scythe Goddard. Scythe Goddard was part of the new-order, scythes that glean for pleasure, until Scythe Lucifer burned him to ashes. Scythe rand tells Lucifer he will train her protege in order to prepare him for scythe hood. In return Lucifer will be kept alive and eventually turn him in to the scythedom.
