  • Hey Livvy whats up!
  • I came over to learn about something for my project. Katelyn's gonna help me out
  • "Whats that?" Please tell me that sounds very interesting"!
  • "First I think you should know about the Law Of Conversation of matter".
  • "Hey Katelyn" Livvy said. "Oh whats up Katelyn". "Nothing much I just wanted to ask you about something for my project. " Yeah sure" Livvy said. "Ok so for my project we are learning about energy and energy transformations. "Oh yeah I know all about that" livvy said. lets go on a walk and ill tell you all about it . "Ok! lets go!
  • "Heres an example. When I turn on the stove the energy involved is mechanical energy . Then when the gas ignites, the energy involved is chemical energy. When the gas warms up the water in the pan, the energy involved now is thermal energy
  • "Ohhhh that makes sense. There are alot of energy types huh.
  • When they got to Livvy's house her sister greeted them. They said hi and then proceeded to get into the house. " Do u want a cupcake while we talk Livvy?" Katelym asked." That would be great" Livvy said. They then walked to the dinner table to have their little snack.
  • The Law of Conservation of matter states that matter can not be created or destroyed even during a change in matter. This law dates back to 1789. The person who fathered this law was Antoine Lavoisier whon was a chemist. "Let me show you some energy transformations." Katelyn said.
  • "No problem! Im glad I could help. See ya next time!
  • Ok byeee
  • "Thanks for telling me all about energy transformations and the different kinds of them. This is really gonna help me on my project
  • When Katelyn turned on the stove she showed an example of mechanical energy which is the energy of an object in motion. Then when the gas ingiited, she showed an example of chemical energy. Chemical energy is energy stored in bonds such as batteries, biomass, (natural gas), and coal. And lastly when the fire warmed up the water that is an example of thermal energy which is energy involved with heat.
  • In the first example, the energy transfer is solar energy to chemical energy. This is also known as the process called photosynthesis. In the second example the energy transfer is chemical to mechanical. Lastly, the third example is chemical energy from the stove to heat energy.
  • After Katelyn told Livvy about the Energy Transformations, she was relieved and glad she has information about the topic for her project. The END
