- The illegal dumping of contaminated water, gases, chemicals, heavy metals or radioactive materials into major waterways causes damage to marine life and the environment as a whole.
- In 2013, transportation contributed more than half of the carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, and almost a quarter of the hydrocarbons emitted into our air.
- Man-made air pollution refers to the harmful smoke emitted out of factories while naturally, it can affect the air through the smoke that is emitted by burning wood or coal
- When cars burn gasoline, they emit pollutants
- The combustion of fossil fuels like coal, petroleum and other factory combustibles is a major cause of air pollution
