Storyboard Text

  • Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
  • Do you read the bible? Can you tell me what it says?
  • Yes, I do. It says . Love the Lord with all your heart and soul and with all your strength and mind and, love your neighbour as you do yourself.
  • You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.
  • But who is my neighbour?
  • One day whilst Jesus was delivering a message to his disciples, a man asked him a question. He wanted to test Jesus.
  • I wonder if I should help this man?
  • Jesus responded to the man, directing him towards the bible and what they both believe as the truth.
  • Can you please look after him, and when I return, I will pay you for any extras you may have.
  • Upon reciting the bible the man realises that he must love everyone, so ask Jesus to clarify. Jesus tells the man a story about the Good Samaritan.
  • Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who was robbed?
  • The good man who cared for the injured man.
  • A man was travelling from Jerusalem when he was beaten up by robbers, who left him to die. A priest was travelling down the same road, when he saw the man, he crossed onto the other side of the path and continued to walk. So too did a Levite, both leaving the man to suffer.
  • A Samaritan, was travelling down the same road when he saw the injured man and took pity on him. He bandaged his wounds. He then put the man on his donkey and took him to an inn to take care of him. The next day he took out his own money and gave it to the innkeeper. He asked the innkeeper to care for the injured man until he returned.
  • After telling the story, Jesus wanted to know the man had understood, that even people he may not like are still his neighbours and that he should follow in the Samaritans footsteps and take mercy on all.
