- The mean arrived to the land of the dead and sacrifice a black lamb and a young goat enable to speak to the dead.

- Odysseus is reunited with his dead mother, Elpenor (a former man of his crew), Agamemnon, Achilles, and finally Tiresias

- Tiresias told the men if they wanted to get to Ithaca safely, they could not feast or even touch the cattle of Helios.

- Odysseus is given a choice to sacrifice 6 men in order for the rest to make it home. Odysseus chooses to sacrfice the men.
- When they reach land, the men are reminded not to eat the cattle. Unfortunately once the men run out of food from Circe Eurylochus convinces the men to eat the cattle.
- Let's eat 'em!
- While leaving to Itacha the boat is destroyed and Odysseus is drifting at sea on a small plank of wood for 9 days.
