Storyboard Text

  • A dog of that house shall move me to stand. I will take the wall of any man or maid of Montagues
  • Tis true, and therefore women, being the weaker ves-sels, are ever thrust to the wall. Therefore I will push Montague’s men from the wall, and thrust his maids to the wall
  • Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them, which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it. (bites his thumb)
  • Sampson and Gregory, two servants of the Capulet family are in the town square expressing their hate for the Montague family. Sampson goes on to refer to the Montague family as dogs and says he would let them fall in the gutter.
  • Oh, where is Romeo? Saw you him today? Right glad I am has was not at this fray.
  • As Sampson and Gregory are expressing their hate for Montagues Gregory says being on the wall is for women so Sampson agrees and says the Montagues will be on the wall since they're weak.
  • Alas, that love, whose view is muffled still, Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will! Here’s much to do with hate but more with love. Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything of nothing first created! O heavy lightness, serious vanity, Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
  • The two Capulets continue conversating and agree to bite their thumbs at the Montagues as an insult. While the Capulets were still conversating a Montague servant (Abram) confronts them for being disrespectful.
  • Why, such is love’s transgression. Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast, which thou wilt propagate, to have it presses with more of thine. This love that thou hast shown.
  • Romeo was depressed because Rosaline didn't love him back. This caused Romeo to run away and now all his loved ones are worried. Now, his mother is sending Benvolio out on a mission to find her son.
  • Benvolio eventually finds a depressed Romeo crying about his feelings. Romeo is very passionate and explains how love relates to hate. Also, how he is losing this battle of love since the one he loves doesn't feel the same.
  • Romeo is still explaining his sadness to Benvolio. Now, he is talking about how much sadness he has built up in his body. This makes Benvolio feel his pain before he leaves.
