- Sorry Sunny, You cannot go to the shore with one of your friends this summer. You are going to Florida to see your grandpa instead.
- Why are there so many old people here? I guess because this is Florida and old people live here.
- Come on Sunny! Lets go to the house I live in now that you are registered here.
- It is so boring here. Why can't we just do normal things. Not go and do random errands. Also the bed is so noisy. It is so hard to sleep.
- Sunny, I have something very interesting and fun to do. Lets go to the post office!
- SQUEAK!!
- Right before Sunny's family and her friend go to the shore to have fun, they have to cancel it at the last minute because Sunny's brother, Dale, has mental problems and her parents don't want Sunny to see that. They knew it was going to be tough, so they sent Sunny to Florida.
- Cool! You will have to show me about them.
- Hi! What is your name? Do you want to be friends? What are you interested in?
- Hi! I am Buzz. I am interested in comics.
- My Favorite is Spider-Man. He can shoot webs from his wrists.
- When Sunny arrives in Florida her grandpa picks her up. She goes to the retirement house he lives in and realizes that there are barely any kids who live there and there are too many old people. She now thinks that her time here is not going to be fun at all and she is not going to do anything interesting.
- I don't want to keep any more secrets.
- Let's make the last few days you are here a memory you will have forever.
- It's all my fault. I made the 4th of July Day worse. So they sent me down here.
- No, they are trying to fix Dale's problems. They sent you here because the process is not going to be pretty.

- After arriving at her Grandpa's house she realizes that her grandpa doesn't do anything interesting at all and only runs errands and does old people's things. She is also annoyed because her bed is very squeaky and uncomfortable but she also doesn't want to tell her grandpa.
- This trip to Florida was not that bad. At least I made a friend and got to go to Disney World.
- She meets another kid named Buzz. They become friends because Buzz introduces his comics and the retirement complex to Sunny. They find golf balls, cats, and they earn money by helping people so that they can buy concessions and comics to read. They end up bonding really well and makes Sunny's days more fun and interesting.

- Sunny finally finds enough courage to tell her grandpa everything and she soon realizes that it is not her fault that she was sent down here. Her grandpa also promises that he will not smoke anymore. They then make the last days the best days of the trip and she goes to Disney World and has a lot more fun than she had the whole trip.
- Her summer is almost over and she is flying back home. She is really happy because she said what she truly thought to her grandpa and he made the trip a lot more enjoyable and fun. She is also glad because she made a friend, Buzz who made living with her Grandpa more entertaining.
