Storyboard Text

  • Right before the Neolithic Revolution it was called the Paleolithic age. During the Paleolithic age people were hunter gatherers. So they hunted animals and gathered food, and they also traveled in small groups. They did not have any language, so the Paleolithic age is considered as prehistory.
  • The Neolithic Revolution also known as the New Stone Age started at 8000 B.C.E and ended 3000 B.C.E. People started having specialized jobs and they also lived in permanent houses. People settled in places like Jericho and Catal Hoyuk.
  • The Neolithic Revolution was the beginning of Agriculture. Because we still farm to this day, it is considered to be one of the most important moments in history. They started to plant seeds and harvest crops. Since the Neolithic Revolution majority of the food came from farming, instead of gathering. Agriculture led to permanent dwelling instead of always traveling for food.
  • During the Neolithic Revolution, farmers learned how to domesticate animals, to raise and use them for their needs. Animals such as sheeps, goats, cattle, and mules were domesticated. Early farmers raised sheep, goats, and cattle for meat. Goats and cattle also provided milk. They used Mules helped carry heavy loads and pull plows. Because we still domesticate animals, the beginning of domestication of animals is also considered to be one of the most important moment in history.
  • After the Neolithic Revolution, People started having specialized jobs. Back then people had jobs such as farming, trading , basket weaving, building homes, weaving, and tool making. Specialized jobs gave people the opportunity to improve the ways they worked.
  • After the Neolithic Revolution, people lived in permanent houses made by mud bricks. Though the houses were very simple, those houses gave people protection, it was more comfortable, it helped people cook food in new ways, and enabled people to settle together in larger communities.
