Michelle is an early adolescence girl who is 14 years old. She is very conscience of her body and is sad to the fact that she does not have breast as the other school girls do.

At school, she has no relationship with her peers and is often by herself.

At home, she is also withdrawn from her siblings and parents.

In class activities, Michelle is not participating nor communicating in group activities and keeps to herself .

This causes her to become disengaged with her schoolwork and gets a poor grade in HFLE.

Michelle's HFLE teacher will use her knowledge and skills of child and adolescence to help Michelle develop a sense of identify.

Michelle's HFLE teacher meets with her regularly and have her write about herself, her feelings and her goals.

The HFLE teacher advices and guides Michelle about her self worth, her relationship with her parents and peers and the importance of doing well in school.

She also implements a recognition aboard in the classroom and encourage the class to be friendly to each other.


After the intervention from Michelle' s HFLE teacher, Michelle is no longer shy or depressed. She has accepted her physical appearance, has developed self-esteem and is confident at home and at school.

I am the only one whose breast is not developed in my Grade 8 class.

Maybe that is why no one wants to be my friend.
