- The Five Pillars of Islam
- Declaration of Faith- Shahada: means to believe that "There is no God but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God." Becoming a Muslim means you have to recite this phrase with conviction.
- ALLAH IS THE ONE AND ONLY GOD!!
- Prayer- Salat: Muslims must pray facing Mecca 5 times a day, which is at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and after dark. This also includes a recitation of the opening chapter (sura) of the Qur'an. Rugs are optional.
- Charity- Zakat: a form of obligatory charity. Muslims believe that paying zakat purifies, increases and blesses the remainder of their wealth.
- Offering Box
- Fasting- Ramadan- Sawm: On the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, all capable Muslims must pray continuously and not eat or drink until sunset. Muslims renew their awareness and gratitude for everything God has provided in their lives. This is also the month when the Qu'ran was written.
- Pilgrimage- Hajj- Once in their lifetimes, Muslims are to journey to Mecca in Saudia Arabia and perform rituals of the Hajj such as praying towards the Ka'ba (which is at the center of Mecca) and etc. Also this helps Muslims feel equal and that God is greater than them.
