- Khalil was shot and killed because officer assumed he had a gun

- Star was stunned when the officer pulled Khalil out the car. She was terrified because he didn't understand the severity of the situation. When Khalil was killed star was screaming for help, questioning the police " Why did u do that is was a brush." The police ran off and Star was in disbelief because she was. the only one who witness the murder of her best friend.
- In this situation Star could not respond to this girl with the same heat she was giving her. Simply because start is 1 of the only Black girls at this school coming from a "ghetto" neighborhood. If she responded crazy the girl might have accused her of something that didn't even happen.
- Star is making an approbate choice by not putting her hands of the girl who was talking about her. It was very proactive of her to use the brush symbolizing Khalil death. Although this does cause and since and brings more attention to her giving people more view points on her character.
- " We must unite and fight""Justice for Khalil" "How many people is it going to take for you all to stop killing us" "Our lives do matter" " Are you guys going to fight with me ? "
- Star is currently inside her fathers store looking for milk for her and her brothers eyes, since the police wanted to set off bombs during her speech. The police came to the scene because a enemy of the dad came and set the store on fire. The police gets out the car and this happens..
- He points the gun at Stars little brother star gets in front of the brother and says, " Your gonna shoot me to officer like you did Khill" In the situation Star is being very mature and confident with her words and actions. She has displayed these characters throughout the whole act. Star never cared about being black or rowing up in poverty she used that as motivation.
