- Abram being called by God and is impatient at first
- Abram then built an altar where the Lord had appeared to him.
- "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing."

- Abram trusting God and taking Sarai and Lot to the land of Canaan
- Abraham offering hospitality out of kindness to these three men
- All who believe because Abram believed is what God is referring to when He says descendants
- "To your descendants I will give this land."
- God's covenant of circumcision with Abram
- "Between you and me I will establish my covenant, and I will multiply you exceedingly. Every male among you shall be circumcised"
- I am going to put my faith in God and trust Him.
- God's promise to Abraham is repeated in this story
- "Let some water be brought, that you may bathe your feet, and then rest under the tree"
- “I will return to you about this time next year, and Sarah will then have a son.”
