- "How was school Melanie" said her mom?
- "It was alright" said Melanie.
- "Their necks were long, and their beaks curved down."
- "Hi Melanie, do you want to go to a park that we don't have to wear our masks?"
- Melanie exclaimed "No way, there's something like!"
- Melanie's mom is picking her up from school.
- Melanie was reading a book about flamingos and then she saw picture and said.
- "Oh no" murmured her dad and the travel guide.
- "Wha-Is it fake" cried Melanie?
- Her Dad came home and asked her if she wanted to go to the park where they didn't have to wear masks.
- Melanie's dad and the pilot took of to go to the park in a helicopter
- Once they get there Melanie goes straight for the woods. She's admiring the colors and how amazing it is. She then gets to a little pond and sees a flamingo and she can't believe her eyes. She hears her dad yelling for her so she swims across the pond to see it up close. She went up to pet it and it didn't move. Once she pet it the flamingo fell right over. She realized it was fake.
- The travel guide had told Melanie that they used to have flamingos and how beautiful they were and how they missed seeing them around. So the reason of the flamingo being up as a decoration is to see if people are willing to go up and pet it to see if it's real. We still want people to believe that flamingos are alive so that's why we have it there as decoration.
