- Man I have to learn the concept of Cell theory and understand none of guy mentioned. But I understand none of this.
- Here let me see if I can help you understand them. Lets start at the beginning.
- First during 1665 we have Robert Hooke and Englishman who would later lay the foundation to Cell Theory
- Interesting inside this little cork are what looks like tiny box like cavities. Funny these little these remind me of little rooms (cells) at the monastery I visited. Well I guess I will name my new discover, Cells!
- Hooke would be the one to discover the cell and come up it name.
- Next we have Robert Brown a Scottish Botanist, who around 1831 would discover the structure of a plant cell and help confirm the second half of Cell Theory.
- Interesting, after observing this cell I notice that there is a round structure in the middle of it. I think I will call it the Nucleus.
- Next we a German Botanist and Physician named Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. Who would Really support the idea of the first idea of Cell Theory.
- I Matthias Schleiden in 1831 concluded that all plant tissues are composed or made up of cells.
- While I agree with Schleiden, I Theodor Schwann in 1839 also conclude that all animal tissues are composed of cells. Also individual organism all the cells are identical.
- Finally we have Rudolf Virchow a German Physician at around 1855. At this time he would discover through his studies that all cells originally came or developed from pre-existing cells.
- Ah yes, my studies for Cell Theory are ready to publish for the world. These studies should help conclude Cell Theory and help give better understandings of diseases.
- Now after that, can you tell what the three basic parts of Cell Theory are?
- 1. All organisms are composed of 1 or more cells.2. Cells are the basic unit of structure and function.3. Cells come from pre-existing cells.
