Storyboard Text

  • Welcome to the English class!
  • But teacher this is math class.
  • I know lol. Anyway, we will be learning about exponents.
  • But we will never need to know this in the real world.
  • If you wanna program computer you will need to know this.
  • Doesn't matter you need it for this class.
  • I don't want to do that though.
  • The product rule states if two factors raised to an exponent are being multiplied together and they have the same base number we can add the exponents.
  • Base tells what number is being multiplied. And the exponent is how much the base number is being multiplied.
  • And then the quotient rule is as long as the base is the same we can divide the two powers by subtracting the exponents
  • Zero exponent rule: A^0=1, not equal to 0
  • The power rule is: if the base raised to a power is being raised to another power then the two powers are multiplied and the base remains the same
  • And then the negative exponent rule is: A number with a negative exponent should be put to the denominator and vice versa
  • the base must be a positive integer
