- Ophelia tells Polonius how Hamlet came into her room acting frantic and scaring her by his actions as if he was mad.

- Gertrude and Claudius calls up Hamlet's childhood friends, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to act as their informants and figure out what is wrong with Hamlet.

- Claudius and Polonius spy on Hamlet because Polonius thinks Hamlet is lovesick while Claudius thinks its something else bothering him, so they are here to really find out.
- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern bring Hamlet's favorite players to cheer him up.
