  • In September of 1813 U.S Navel forces under the command of Oliver Hazard Perry, captured 6 British fleets on lake Erie. This victory allowed other land troops to push farther North into Canada.
  • This battle was led by General Andrew Jackson who had around 7,000 militia behind him. The militia consisted of soldiers, pirates, and people of color. This battle was won by Jackson's troops and they only lost 70 men compared to the 2,000 the British lost.
  • Although both sides claim that they won, no country lost or gained anything from this. The peace treaty ended the war but did not adress any of the main issues, instead impressment faded away with time and such.
