- "Sirius, this is dangerous. Wouldn't it just be easier to ask for it back?"
- "I need to do something to get the Marauder's Map back."
- "No, I have to take it back."
- "It would be really hard to figure out how to work it unless he has previously watched us use it."
- "Today is the day I get the Marauder's Map back. It is not a good thing that Snape has it. Snape could figure out how to work the map."
- We are. We are talking about our Potions assignment. We are almost done, but we wanted to talk about everything we have covered.
- What are you two doing out here? I thought lunch was a time for studying.
- As Remus Lupin and Sirius Black are talking, Severus Snape is watching them from the corner of the street. Lupin and Sirius are unaware that Snape is watching their every move. Snape is planning on trying to figure out how the Marauder's Map works. Snape is watching because he is listening to see if he can find any clues on how to work the map.
- Charms is the only class that Sirius and Lupin don't have with Snape. They spend most of the time while they are working on using the Accio spell talking about how they should get the map back. Lupin suggests they tell Dumbledore that Snape has stolen something of theirs, but then Lupin says that they would have to show Dumbledore what the item is, and the probably wouldn't be able to have the item anymore.
- After Charms class, Sirius and Lupin have lunch. They end up eating quickly and go outside to talk about their plan. Sirius suggests that they could use their friend"s, James Potter, invisibility cloak to sneak into the Slytherin common room and grab the map back. Lupin says that the plan sounds good, but they need to be careful, so they don't get caught. They are lucky they decided to bring their Potions essay to work on as well.
- After they went to Herbology , they headed towards the Gryffindor common room. Lupin didn't talk much because he was thinking about how much trouble they could get in. Sirius didn't seem to care that they would get in trouble. He told Lupin that he could stay in the common room to make sure that everyone would be asleep. Lupin agreed and was a little happier.
- Sirius and Lupin spent the rest of the day in the library finishing the assignments for their classes. They had to finish the Potions essay, the Transfiguration essay, Charms homework, a diagram for Care of Magical Creatures, and reading the next chapter in the Herbology book. Sirius was about ready to throw his homework out the window, when Lupin pointed out that he better finish the homework, so if they get in trouble he wouldn't have extra homework on top of that.
- Finally, it was time for the dinner feast. Sirius was very happy because it was the Halloween feast and that was always very exciting to be at.
